Hello! My name is Brit Campbell (she/they). I am originally from Niagara Falls, and I have had the privilege of living and working on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Mohawk, Algonquin, and Anishinaabeg (Ottawa) for the past six years. An elementary school teacher by day and a fibre artist by night, I deeply value the intricacies of learning and creating art that helps us to better understand ourselves and others around us.
My art is predominantly macrame and punch needle. I love to repurpose old things! Most of my work is upcycled projects featuring thrifted and gifted pieces. It is so cool to see things that used to represent another time, place, and stage of life be created into something new. For me, part of creating art is meshing multiple worlds, re-experiencing memories, and writing new stories.
